In the dark doldrums of winter, it is easy for us to lose perspective on what is important. The
long, cold days of the season can make it hard to make sense of things. After a tough winter,
one can become disoriented and dazed. However, even while facing seasonal confusion, it's
very easy to change our view and look at things in a new way. We all can look at each
exciting new situation and look for the beauty and grace therein. Finding the positive
potential in a confusing world is simple. We can march forth from our day-to-day routine
and look at things in a new way. Changing our perspective on the world will help discover
the beauty in anything.
Exalano Day was created many years ago as a unique holiday where we are all called upon to march forth from our daily routine and look at things in a new way. The annual call to celebrate Exalano Day has been issued in each of the last forty-one years by the Exalano Day Committee (the EDC), a very, very small group of people on an annual mission to remind everyone that we all can march forth from our everyday confusion and put order back into our world. The word 'Exalano' comes from the Greek word meaning 'to march forth', and hence it is natural to declare that the fourth day of March should be called Exalano Day. On this most unique holiday, the Exalano Day Committee declares that everyone, everywhere, can stand up, march forth, and take a brand new look at the world aorund us.
On Saturday, March 4, 2017, all of us should celebrate Exalano Day by adjusting our perspective. Change the way you look at things on this Exalano Day.
